ELIGIBILITY  FOR OPEN GROUP:

Open to designers as students or individuals with passion for design. Individual Entry ONLY. Two groups available: Free Topic Group and Given Topic Group. Entrant may decide by your own to submit for either group or both.

GIWEN TOPIC GROUP:

Product Design Category: final topic will be given in May by the prominent enterprises in Dongguan

Submission Process & Product Requirements for OPEN GROUP

1. Original work, never made public and entered into other contests, without prior commercialization.
2. The entry form and design work are required to be sent by email to dgawards @vip.163.com OR by posting a CD with entry form and design work to us. Entry form is downloadable on our website: http://www.dgawrds.com or www.dolcn.com.
3. Each item of design work is required to be in 2 pieces of A1-sized (594mm×841mm) JPEG (*.jpg) drawing, vertical layout,with 300 dpi resolution, Each entry design work drawing is required to contain submission title, colorful effective drawing, basic appearance dimension drawing, and a project description in English. There can be no modification after submission.
4. Unified model making by the Organizing Committee is a MUST. Each entrant is required to submit the detailed size and computer 3D model, with the model scale 1:1. Proportional scale-down will be applied, in case the original size of the entry product is too small

Judging Cycle：

Preliminary Screening: Seven or Nine jurors will be invited to present the preliminary screening session. They will select 250 projects as winning entries from all competent entries and 30 finalists out of such 250 winning entries for the final selection by on-site review and scoring.
Final Screening: 30 finalists will be invited to present their entries in Dongguan and give oral presentation on their projects (English is strongly recommended). Jurors will score the model, design drawing, and presentation to choose the Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Merit Awards winners.
Entrants may make ppt. or audio / video presentation. Entrants who are not able to present the final screening round may submit to the Organizing Committee by 10th, Sept. his/her design work in DVD, VCD, MPG or other workable formats.

* Note: The final award placement will be subject to the quality of the products. If entry products can not meet the requirements of the given awards above, any vacancies for the nomination are allowed.

CRITERIA FOR ENTERPRISE GROUPS

To encourage and celebrate all the innovative achievements of industrial design and the contributions of local enterprises and designers, and to bolster the self-owned innovation advancement for the local industries.

PRODUCT DESIGN CATEGORY:

No specific limitations for products of enterprises group. All products which can meet the requirements of the Awards, including but not limited to electronic information product, furniture, toy, machinery, shoes, and medical equipment. All entry projects are required to have been product-formed in the last 2 years (from April 2006 onward), with valid supporting documents by the respective manufacturing enterprise and no infringement of any third party’s intellectual property rights.

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to enterprises in Dongguan ONLY. All entry projects are required to have been product-formed in the last 2 years (from April 2006 onward), with supporting documents by the respective manufacturing enterprises. Alternative, if individual designer on behalf of the enterprise enrolls for this group, valid supporting document by respective enterprises should be submitted.

CHINA RED STAR DESIGN AWARD 2008

All entries of enterprise group would be invited to take part in China Red Star Design Award 2008, respective detailed information will be available @ www.redstaraward.org

Submission Process & Product Requirements for ENTERPRISE GROUP
1. Entrant enterprises are required to fill in the entry form in a true and right way and submit the entry design work to the Organizing Committee via mailing to us or email to dgawards@vip.163.com. Entry form and online submission details are available on www.dgawards.com.
2. Each item of design work is required to be in 2 pieces of A1-sized (594mm×841mm) JPEG (*.jpg) drawing, vertical layout, and 300 dpi resolution, Each entry design work drawing is required to contain submission title, colorful effective drawing, basic appearance dimension drawing, and a project description in both Chinese and English. There can be no modification after submission.
3. The enterprises innovation award winning enterprises are required to submit the real product for the outstanding product exhibition.

All materials received by the Awards Organizing Committee become the property of the Awards Organizing Committee and may be used in any form for publication purposes. The Awards Organization Committee reserves the right to exhibit print, and publicize the entry work. Without the permission of work owners, no copying by any other individuals or enterprises is allowed, nor the products shown or publicized. Meanwhile, entrants have obligations protect the intellectual property rights of all entry work.
